Pear Tree Nursery, West Road Completes Step 1 towards becoming a Sun Safe Nursery - Sun Hats, Sunscreen & Role Models

Congratulations to Pear Tree Nursery, West Road for issuing Sun Safety Fact Sheets to all their pupils. Pear Tree Nursery, West Road has also pledged to keep sun hats and sunscreen available for all their children and to act as role models with regard to sun safety:

“Today we emailed out the fact sheet and printed the letter for parents to sign at pick up. Going forward we will include both in our care plan packs ”

Spring Cedars Completes Step 3 towards becoming a Sun Safe Nursery - Teaching Resources & Activities

Congratulations to Spring Cedars for reading George the Sun Safe Superstar to all their children and introducing everyone to the ‘Slip, Slap, Slop song’.Spring Cedars have also pledged to continue to regularly use the resources provided to reinforce the sun safe message to their children.

“The children have been singing the song whilst getting ready to go outside. They have even been singing this independently as they are having their suncream applied. All age groups have enjoyed listening to the story and the staff have been using visuals to demonstrate the items we need to stay safe in the sun. The younger children have been putting their hats on whilst we have read the story to them and have enjoyed singing the song many of them know the Slip Slap Slop bit of by heart”
